A great agile work space or a co-working space is not only known to provide great ideas but also for its playful nature. This idea is adopted in order to greatly improve the effectiveness of team communication because rich communication is one of the agile pillars. A creative solution to how people can share a place of work rather than being confined to a cubicle is important. Designing an office space that allows flexibility in changing business landscapes is the concept behind an agile workplace. But before you design an office optimized for the future, you have to understand what the employees need and how that space will be used.
The planning of an agile workplace is zoned out into 3 key elements:
Resources and Storage
Bright, open spaces are an important aspect of an agile workplace as it offers spaces of encourages interaction within different project teams and promotes connectivity.
When elements like appropriate artwork, comfortable workstations, soothing colors and natural sunlight are brought together creatively, help to lighten the mood within the office, boost morale and create an environment that employees want to be in. Since we spend the majority of our week within the confines of our work space, the way that it looks, and feels, makes a big difference in the way we perceive our jobs, co-workers and the company we work for.
UNIQUE ZONES- BREAKOUT & QUIET
An agile workplace consists of several unique zones that employees can access when needed. The first is a Breakout Zone with informal multi-purpose spaces that are ideal for brain-storming sessions and a more creative setting to traditional group meetings. Secondly, quiet zones that allow employees to separate themselves from the pack, to work on individual projects. Finally, there should also be social spaces where employees can step away from their work, relax or have a meal.
RESOURCES AND STORAGE
Facilities that include copiers, printers, recycling stations or storage areas of files/stationery need to be located near the respected teams but screened to cancel noise.
