The primary idea of using a container, scooped from the thought that a young couple needed a quick build at one of the most unapproachable geographies at a short time span of 6 to 8 months .

Sketch by Shubham Majumder
Playing with the form and fine tuning with the surrounding geographic environment was the main motto of the design

THE TWO KEY ELEMENTS OF PLANNING WERE
A. Budget
B. What is that needed to be built ?
Number of bedrooms ?
Number of stories ?
whether deploy new or used shipping containers ?

CONSTRUCTION PHASE
An advantage of shipping container home was that it could be built off site and delivered ready to move in .This helped us escape on site issues such as frequent access to remote location, lack of electricity & water for construction use.

BUILD PROCESS THAT WAS PROPOSED TO BE FOLLOWED
Planning of the project ( 3 weeks )
Finalize Design Construction Approval ( 3 weeks )
Site Preparation and Foundations ( 6 weeks )
External air seal / spray foam insulation ( 6 weeks )
Interior finish ( 4 weeks )
TOTAL PERIOD - ( 6 TO 8 MONTHS )
FOLLOWING IMAGES GIVE THE UNREALISTIC LOOK OF A CONTAINER BOX ACHIEVED FROM THE INSIDE

The internal views exemplify a double height volume achieved by placing one container above another and clubbing the same with a double height typical masonry & sloped roof, living area

The design allowed that these containers don't end up looking like metal boxes, instead the use of right materials allow for a good aesthetic feel

Overall our attempt was to ensure that the nature too, could live its own life & the architecture at this setting did not disrupt it .The goal was well achieved by bringing the surrounding natural elements, the built form and the user together into a higher coherence.
