So how can we make the most of these formative years of a child!!
SM Studio attempted to break the preconceived notions of “what a school should look like” as a way to pique a child's curiosity and creativity.
Through extensive research and observation we have realized that usually preschools are spread horizontally for the shear ease of inter connectivity, spatial security and feel of volume.
However, we had a situation where the school spreads vertically not horizontally which made it quite challenging for us to create a flow and ensure correct zoning for activities based on different age groups.

Zone 1 : LIFE EXPERIENCES
It consist of different activities that helps in the physical and mental development of a child. This zone focuses on improving their imagination, teaches them co-ordination and trust.

Zone 2 : DINING AND ASSEMBLY AREA
T he Outdoor Oasis is an Adventure cum Science Learning Centre.
Along with the Sand Pits where kids can play on Tyre Structures, the Water Play element acts as a science experiment where water moves through different sections and finally reaches the base

Zone 3: INDOOR AND OUTDOOR LEARNING AREA
This zone focuses on hands on work in nature and play while you learn experiences.
The Landscape & Gardening Area is a place where kids can grow plants, flowers, fruits and vegetables and in the process learn about them. It will also help them develop a connection with different species of birds. Moreover aspects of global warming & the importance of nature will also be taught in this zone.

Zone 4: WORK.LEARN.PLAY
The Classrooms dedicated for the 0-2 yr old kids have multi-functional furniture to enhance the WORK.LEARN.PLAY experience.

These Classrooms are on the topmost level as they require silence. The space has cradles for them to sleep as well. Also the façade has various material feel for them to play with and touch. All the required measures were also provided to ensure safety of the kids.
